Beeswax Wrap Recipe

       INGREDIENTS:

       4 Tbsp Beeswax
       3 Tbsp Pine Rosin
       2 tsp Jojoba oil

       INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Melt beeswax completely in a double-boiler.
  2. Add pine rosin and allow it to soften fully before stirring.
  3. Stir gently until fully incorporated.
  4. Blend in jojoba oil.
  5. Brush onto cotton fabric and hang to dry.

Advanced Tips

 

• Choose 100% Cotton Fabric

For best results, use thin, tightly woven 100% cotton fabric. Lightweight poplin is an excellent choice. Thinner fabric allows the wax and rosin blend to fully saturate and creates wraps that feel flexible — not stiff or heavy.


• Never Melt Ingredients Over Direct Heat

Avoid placing beeswax or rosin directly on a stovetop burner. Always use a double boiler method, or set a heat-safe glass jar or small pan inside a pot of water. The water level should match the height of the ingredients in your container to ensure even, gentle melting and prevent scorching.


• Melt in the Proper Order

Begin by fully melting the beeswax. Once melted, add the pine rosin but allow it to soften before stirring. When the rosin becomes pliable and gooey, stir continuously until the mixture is completely combined and smooth. This ensures proper integration and consistent adhesion in your finished wraps.


• Dedicate Your Tools (or Protect the Ones You Love)

Rosin and wax mixtures can be sticky and difficult to remove completely. If possible, keep a small set of tools reserved specifically for wrap making — such as a melting jar or pot, a bun pan or cookie sheet, and a brush or roller used exclusively for this purpose.

 

If you’re using everyday kitchen tools instead, protect them by lining pans with parchment paper and using simple stirrers like wooden chopsticks that can be discarded afterward. A little preparation makes cleanup easy and stress-free.

Wraps too sticky? 

       → reduce rosin slightly

Wraps too brittle? 

       → increase oil slightly

Wraps too thick?

       →Use thin cotton fabric. Poplin cotton is ideal.

Wraps not sealing well?

       → Ensure beeswax is fully melted before adding rosin. Once rosin is very soft, stir well before adding oil.

Wrap texture is inconsistent?

→ Ensure hot mixture is stirred very well before applying to fabric.

• Store in cool, dry place

• Keep away from heat sources

Did your rosin arrive solidified?

Due to extreme heat conditions during hot seasons, rosin powder can clump during the shipping process. While this is undesirable, it is redeemable by gently crushing it with a hammer.
